The Gospel Proclamation
He said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under the bushel basket, or under the bed, and not on the lampstand? For there is nothing hidden, except to be disclosed; nor is anything secret, except to come to light. Let anyone with ears to hear listen!” And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear; the measure you give will be the measure you get, and still more will be given you. For to those who have more will be given; and from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.

Gaze on Jesus
Jesus says that a lamp or light should not be covered or hidden, for then it will lose its purpose. A lamp is lit at night to shed light to a place around so that people will see at night. Also a light should be placed at a higher place for then a larger space can be lit up, than otherwise. Jesus says that things hidden will be published or made to come to light or revealed as there will be no secrets. In another place Jesus says that one day a person’s secret life will be revealed from house-tops, the good and the bad that he has done - that is specially the secret sins that he has committed. I am sure these sins are those he has not confessed or not repented for.
Furthermore the good that we do to others and those that we have not boasted about, will be repaid to us one day. I feel that Jesus who is so generous will repay some “thirty-fold, some fifty-fold and others a hundred-fold.” Those who gain a hundred-fold must be the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for Christ. Also saints like St. Augustine who have completely transformed their lives for Christ too may receive a hundred-fold. Saints like St. Therese who have brought great consolation to the poor, the marginalised and the sick and the lonely can also be treated as Jesus’ dearest friends who are a beacon of light to the whole world regardless of race or religion.

Prayer Starter
Dear Jesus let me live henceforth a life that will be pleasing in Your eyes so that You will be my greatest friend on earth and in heaven.
