The First Proclamation Please read Jeremiah 11/18-20 prayerfully. Prophet Jeremiah speaks about a plot against him. He knew that in order to be faithful to God he must be moved and transformed by Him.
The Gospel Proclamation Please read John 7/40-53 meditatively.
Gaze on Jesus The feast of the Tents is to take place very soon in the Temple at Jerusalem and Jesus is in Galilee waiting for the opportune moment for Him to go for the feast. He knows that His life is in danger and that the Jews were looking for Him. Some consider Him to be a good man while others say that He is misleading the people. He however went to Jerusalem in secret so as not to have any direct contact with the people. It was only after the feast was half over that He went to the Temple and began to preach much to the amazement of the people . When they wanted to know from whom He received all the teaching He told them that He was taught by the ‘One’ who sent Him and One who is truthful. On the last and greatest day of the feast Jesus spoke about the Holy Spirit which those who believe in Him will received after He goes back to the Father. (Acts 1:5). Those present there had formed their own opinion about Jesus and His origin and would have even arrested Him. The officers of the Temple whom the Pharisees had sent to arrest Jesus went back without doing so because they were very much moved by His teaching. The Pharisees said that they have been led astray and that only those who have no knowledge of the law will believe Jesus. To Nicodemus one of their own leaders who raised a very valid point and who had also met Jesus earlier, they said that no prophet comes from Galilee because some considered Jesus to be from Galilee.
Prayerful Awareness In Wisdom 1:7 it is said that the Spirit of God fills the universe. God never ceased communicating Himself. His Spirit slips into a person’s spirit whom He awakens, animates and impels. He is also present in the people of upright heart. The Spirit is not poured like water. The Spirit of God becomes one with the spirit of the one who receives Him. As long as we do not know God in truth, the Spirit comes ‘over’ us, as happened with the liberators of Israel .(Jud. 11:20). Only after Jesus had entered into His glory could He give His Spirit to those who would be united with Him. The Spirit is as much person and as much God as the Father and the Son are, but the Spirit’s manner of being God and person and One is not the same. The Spirit is communication of God dispensed to all creatures through all times. He is somehow able to distribute Himself, dwelling in each creature with different gifts; then He brings them back to Unity in God. Because of this, Scripture says sometimes ‘the Spirit’ at other times ‘Spirit’ (Luke 1:15, Acts 6:3) or even “the Spirits” (Revelation 1:4, 3:1) Out of Him shall flow rivers of living water. (7:39).
