Mission of Kithu Dana Pubuduwa

We host this website because of our thirst to share the Living Word of the Lord as we experience it. In order to use this web site effectively we invite you to read this page.

Holy SpiritIt is our belief that the Holy Spirit is taking us on a prayer journey to the heart of God through the unfolding of a series of annual themes over the past few years, and therefore we call ourselves a Contemplative Prayer Movement. No matter what our current experience or situation is, we endeavor to be in the heart of God each moment, through our moment to moment living, constant awareness/awakening to the workings of the Holy Spirit, and during our deep contemplative prayer time, ‘My Hour’.

There are four key characteristics in the Charisma of the Kithudana Pubuduwa. These, in sequence, are as follows:

  • My HourExperience Dual Awareness of Self and the Holy Spirit, and be filled with the Spirit through the emptying of self, like the example set by our Blessed Mother
  • Gaze at Jesus Son-ship, both in Divine and Human form
  • Look at our Son-ship, Human and as a Child of God, and compare with Jesus Son-ship to discern our shortcomings
  • Proceed to the very presence of the Almighty God, and into the heart of God

The Kithudana Pubudwa Community lives these experiences in their day to day lives, enjoying the deep sense of security and the love of God and therefore feels an urge to make the Word, Jesus Christ, alive in the home, workplace, and the society in which we live, and by sharing our experiences and testimonies, than by preaching. We believe the Lord is in this way using each and every one of us to respond to our Christian calling to make Jesus alive in the world through the experiences and testimonies we share whenever we get an opportunity. Therefore we call our journey a life journey of revival and at the same time an apostolic mission.

How does the Lord build us in His mission

The Pubuduwa communities meet as Praise and Worship groups at village (Parish) level once a week. Clusters of these village groups meet once a month with their families. experiencesThere are also separate monthly meetings for mothers, fathers and youth groups in Praise and worship to the Lord. At these fellowship meetings, a monthly message from the Centre is disseminated while members also share current life experiences. Apart from these, each member is encouraged to develop a cell of his/her own, ideally limited to groups of five, to share the learnings and current prayer (My Hour) and life experiences.
