Regular Pastoral Activities
Sections Responsible For Supporting The Spiritual Life.
- Pubudu Pawul Sevava (Family Apostolate):
It is the policy of the Pubuduwa to journey according to their charisma always as
a family. Therefore the following teams have been given the responsibility of the
pastoral care of the family and its members.
- Pubudu Family Section
- Pubudu Fathers’ Section
- Pubudu Mothers’ Section
- Pubudu Young Girls’ Section
- Pubudu Young Boys’ Saction
- Pubudu Students’ Section (Boys)
- Pubudu Students’ Section (Girls)
- Pubudu Childrens’ Section
- Tamil Speaking Section
- English Speaking Section
Each of these sections has their own pastoral activities catering to their particular
needs.
Family Section:
- Monthly meetings of the service team at national
- Pre Cana talks – twice or thrice a year of two days duration.
- Family group meetings at Pubudu sanga level.
- Marriage Enrichment programs and parent education programs at regional level
- Annual National Family rally.
Fathers’ and Mothers’ Section:
- Monthly meetings of the service teams at national and grass root community level
- With development and sharing of teachings targeting the growth of the membership
in their specific spirituality.
- Creating an environment to share their life experiences in the spiritual journey
at national, regional and grass root levels.
- Involvement in the social dimension of spirituality.
- A rally at national level
Youth Sections (Young Men And Women):
- Monthly meetings of their service teams at national and grass root community level
- Retreats
- camps
- seminars
- Outreach programs (parishes, schools)
- Involvement in the social dimension of spirituality.
E.g. Campaign against TV programs which have a negative and harmful effect on accepted
cultural and religious values.
Students Section (Separate For Boys And Girls):
Boys and girls the ages of 12 to 18 are considered to be students.
- Monthly meetings of their service teams at national and grass root community level
- Camps. Intended to create an environment which help the participants recognize their
potential for leadership and service; training in working according to a timetable
which include a daily time for prayer; personal hygiene and environment friendly
living.

Childrens’ Section:
A team comprising mothers and youth has been given the responsibility of the spiritual
growth of children (below 12 years).
- A special teaching program comprising Bible stories, songs, activities etc. has
been developed.
- Weekly meetings at grass root level

- Leadership week-end once every three months.
- Monthly Sanga dinaya (community day) at grass root level
- Weekly praise meeting
- The Bible retreat – held regionally
- The Marian retreat – sacraments bi-annually
- Inner healing seminar – nationally and regionally
- Enneagram Seminar - personality types related to our spiritual journey
- Retreat on personal prayer (my hour) monthly for those who wish to follow
- Paschal seminar - annually
- Christmas seminar- annually
- programs for groups from schools – by prior arrangement
